VMware Horizon Password Reset
CyberSquad IT consultants will typically set a generic password when first creating user accounts for the VMware Horizon platform. This password can - and should - be changed by the end user once they are comfortable accessing the system. VMware Horizon password's are shared with HorizonMail email accounts and once changed, users will need to be update any devices that are synced with email accounts for external access. Users have the ability to reset the password once connected to their VMware desktop.
Navigate to the VMware control bar at the top of the window, the press the Ctrl + Alt + Del button. Please note the keyboard combination of these buttons will result in the local computer's password being reset - not the VMware Horizon password. Ensure the toolbar button is used as illustrated below.
The remote server lock screen will appear, press the Change a password button to continue.
Enter the old password for the account, followed by the new password twice to confirm the change. Please note a password policy is in place on the system which requires a minimum length of 8 alphanumeric characters, CyberSquad IT recommend the addition of special characters for enhanced security. Press the arrow button to complete the process.
The system will indicate if the password has been changed successfully.
