Add an Exchange email address alias to sync with Office 365
If CyberSquad IT Consulting have synced their VMware infrastructure with your Office 365 mailboxes, email aliases need to be applied using Active Directory (AD) or for self service management - the ADManager portal.
Login to the ADManager portal using the below URL, and credentials provided by CyberSquad IT. *Note this portal is only accessible from within your hosted VMware desktop environment.
Select Modify Single User from the User Management menu
Locate the user you wish to add the email alias for, then press the Modify User button
Select the Custom Attributes tab from the Modify User Preferences window, then select Add Additional Attribute
Exchange email alias addresses use the proxyAddresses custom attribute, and the following syntax when syncing with Office365:
Primary email address: SMTP:email address
Alias email address: smtp:email address
Enter proxyAddresses into the Attribute Name field followed by the desired alias address into the Attribute Value field. Press the OK button to complete the process.
Press the Update User button to apply the change
Verify the properties have updated successfully then close the Modify User Properties window.
Allow 15-20 minutes for CyberSquad IT's infrastructure to sync with Office 365 before verifying the alias address has applied to the mailbox
